Concrete Slab Edge Protection System

J-Safe’s concrete slab edge protection solution known as CONNECT, can be fixed to the top of concrete slabs or onto the face of the concrete dependent on your project’s requirements.

The CONNECT to concrete edge protection system comprises of bases, posts and steel mesh barriers which feature built in toe board and come in a height of either the standard 1100mm or an extended height of 1800mm.

This system can be connected to either the face or the top of concrete formwork simply by using different fixings, is extremely reliable and quick to install and uninstall saving project time and money.

INSTALLATION ON TOP OF CONCRETE SLABS

This configuration of the J-SAFE CONNECT system positions the slab edge protection system on top of the concrete deck. The system comprises of Posts, Bases and Mesh Barriers for speed and ease of installation.

There are no loose components or special tools required, removing the risk of falling objects during installation.

  • Anchors and cast-in sockets are attached allowing the base to be fixed to the concrete.
  • Posts are then inserted, and steel mesh barriers slid on over the top of each post.
  • If the system is to be moved between floors M12 X 100 Excalibur screw bolts are used to provide an easy-to-use solution, as well as providing a reusable economical anchorage system.
  • This system can be vertically extended using the Top Extension Barriers providing a guardrail height of 1800mm.

INSTALLATION ON EDGE OF CONCRETE SLABS

This configuration of the J-SAFE CONNECT system positions the slab edge protection system onto the face of the concrete deck.

  • Installation using this method, utilising the slab edge bracket and cast-in anchorage is faster and less expensive than other methods and more economical if the edge protection needs to move between floors.
  • The cast-in anchor is fixed to the slab edge formwork by nailing its fixing cap onto the slab edge formwork at maximum 2,400mm spacings.
  • For non-cast-in fixings, Reusable Excalibur Screw bolts are extremely strong and can be re-used up to 10 times if undamaged.
